help on serial cable..how to connect

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

Post by zen »

sorry if posting this in two sections, though first post didnt appear..it was "eaten"???

so breifly..have msx running boosted rover v8..have zf hp24eh box...have just built megashift...i wish to connect it up now to ms2x..how??

the ms2x runs db9 and serial cable to serial to usb converter..the meashift i wish to take the canbus out of the amp connector...

HOW do you wire it up so the ms2x talks to the megashift and still plugs into the laptop??dont understand as i see it the serial cable from ms2x is now connected to megashift,
so how then does it connect to laptop???

SORRY for what must be a truly dumb question!buliding the megashift was easy, as by the looks of things will be getting the zf box to run..but i am really crap on computers..

Simon,

The physical connections are described here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/cpt.html

Some of the MShift settings for CANbus comms with msextra are also described here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V41tune.html#oa
