Manual transmission with MegaShift

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

Manual transmission with MegaShift

Post by Snake____1 »

Hi there,

New to this type of controller.

But let's get right to it.

I have a BMW E46 SMG transmission "this is a electro-hydraulically controlled manual transmission"

Basically there is a solenoid for the clutch PWM "with position sensor 0-5v"
Haven't quite mapped out the gear mechanism yet, but there is two position sensors and 5 other solenoids here.

Is there any hope of programming the MegaShift for this transmission? "the transmission at hand is the GS5S31BZ "

Any help is appreciated!

Snake,

It's hard to say without knowing a *lot* more about the transmission.
