Megashift for Chrysler 42LE

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

Megashift for Chrysler 42LE

Post by Bartman »

I have used a number of TCU and ECM's over the years. But, I have a number of applications where we are building mid engine "kit cars" and have mocked up a 42LE with an LS. There is not a commercial available stand alone controller for the 42LE so thinking about developing a Megashift for the application. I am not only a car builder but a former industrial controls engineer. I have not ever built a controller though, only used them and tuned them. Any advise on where to start, I have the manual for the 42LE and have built a small PLC and shifted it in manual mode (basically controlling the solenoid bank) with upshift/downshift buttons. But I want full auto with manual mode (paddle shift) option. Thanks for your comments in advance.

Bartman,

I would start here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/newtrans.html

Thanks, that helps. I could answer all of those questions except if there is a feed back from the shift lever for PNR. I don't recall one, there are pressure switches to confirm the solenoid has opened for a certain gear, there is the normal P&N switch so you can't crank it in gear, but....

Thanks again.

I did find this company http://www.high-impact.net/transmission ... to_pcm.htm
tha have a transmission controller in progress.
I have mailed them but i have not received any answed when they will have it available.
Have you made some progress?
