Hangs in 4th gear after VSS=0

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

Hangs in 4th gear after VSS=0

Post by mill3833 »

Lance,

This one is weird.
Commanded gear stays in 4th even after I come to a complete stop. As I start to roll-out, then it comes down, 3, 2, 1. See attached data.
I am running V5.101. Last year I was running V4.145, and don't remember having this problem.

Any ideas?

Dave

Dave,

I imagine this behavior is likely due to the decel mode settings, which you can read about here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V5tune.html#gh

Decel mode did not exist in the 4.145 code, and is enabled by default in the 5.1xx code.

You can disable decel mode by setting the the Max. sLoad to zero (which should give the same behavior as the 4.1xx code).

Lance.
