hard downshifts when stopping

So this might be a stupid question, but that has YET to stop me....

When slowing down the car hits some pretty hard downshifts. What is the best way to prevent that type of behavior? Load hysteresis?

Re: Hall Effect VSS Setup

OK definitely doesn't need a pullup. When I connect the hall effect sensor to the input on the GPIO the measured output voltage drops from around 13ish to 9v, which equates to a pretty small voltage at the processor with my current divider circuit (same as brake sense per BOM). I'm using a 10k/15k/5...

Hall Effect VSS Setup

So I have this hall effect (3 wire) sensor for the VSS on this toyota box. The signal it puts out is battery voltage when active, but I believe it floats when inactive. Initially I build the VSS input on the GPIO as a voltage divider with a 5.6v zener, but the circuit doesn't appear to trigger at fi...

Re: Gear changes stopped working?

shaodome, What do you see happening in the log? Is there anything that doesn't look right? Was the VSS value acting up? Are there error codes? Does the manual gear lever value do anything unexpected? How does the current gear compare to the target gear and manual gear? Was the trans still in auto m...

Re: Terrible VSS Noise 4L80e

Power cycling it doesn't work. You have to reflash it. I have MSPro connected over CAN BUS. Shaodome, Then MSPro is corrupting the MShift parameters via CAN (that's the only way to mess up the memory enough to require a reflash). You need to take this up with the MSPro developers to get them to sor...

Re: Gear changes stopped working?

I know the trans temps were high on the above (the cooler isn't big enough) so I was trying to get it home and couldn't get it to get out of first gear.

Now...after it cooled off, it's fine again!!!!????

Gear changes stopped working?

So I was driving the car today and everything was fine for about 20 minutes then out of nowhere it didn't want to shift gears anymore. The current gear always stayed at 1 regardless of what the manual gear was or the trans tables were.

Re: Terrible VSS Noise 4L80e

after a fresh relfash its fine Shaodome, Does cycling the power to the GPIO board work? Or do you actually have to reflash to code? Do you have anything connected over the CANbus to MShift (MS-II or MS3)? This is important, because if you have to reflash it means the code is being corrupted, which ...

Terrible VSS Noise 4L80e

I have tried the current release code and the 5.006 variant as well. It seems after a reflash, the first pull it will be OK sort of, but then after that the speed sensor goes nuts. Below is a list of what I have tried: 1. Bypass my original wiring and ran a new shield (original was shielded too) rig...
