Re: V2.00 board errata

All, Please note that some of the 5.6 Zener diodes are marked Cxx in the BOM because they physically install in the place of those caps on the board (so it din't make sense to me to give them a Dxx designation, only to later instruct users to install them in Cxx locations!). Also, I forgot to put EG...

Re: 4L60E 4WD application info request

Brad,

Yes, that's very helpful! I will set the range from 1.96 to 6.00:1, and the default at 2.69:1. Then I will document the possibilities you mention in the manual. (People can always extend the range by changing the INI file - they don't need to do anything to the code.) Thanks!

Lance.

Re: 4L60E 4WD application info request

Marc, Thanks Marc, I will set the default to 2.69:1 for now. I realize it has to be user-serttable (it already is in the code and MegaTune), I was just wondering what the real world range is (like from 1.55 to 4.10, or whatever). I hope to release draft code sometime in the next week or so, it will ...

Re: 4L60E 4WD application info request

Does anyone have an idea of what the 4WD speedo ratio is likely to be (so I can set the range in the INI file). The limits on the value are from 0.001 to 65.535 in the code (it is an int/1000), but I don't expect those possible limits to be used in practice of course!

Re: V2.00 board errata

All, I have put the latest BOM here: http://www.megamanual.com/mshftbom.htm The latest build guide is here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/assembly.html Both of these are reasonably complete and correct (I have just used them to assemble a board), but they likely aren't perfect (we will fix th...

Re: 4L60E 4WD application info request

Thanks Joe! It helps to have the confirmation from someone who knows.

The code includes the 4WD speedo switching now, but I need to finish a production board to test it (doing that as soon as I finish this post!). All testing from this point on will be with the production boards.

4L60E lock-up feel (LUF) solenoid info request

All, Marc (ca434sbc) has let me know that In '98/99 GM introduced a new fluid circuit in the TCC to modulate the lockup, controlled by the lock-up feel solenoid (aka. LU Feel of LUF solenoid). Without this valve being driven the lockup is *very slow* and puts a lot of heat into the TCC clutch. They ...

Re: V2.00 board errata

All, I discussed this with Bruce, and we will correct the 'board length' issue (as well as fix the slkscreen labeling of a few circuits) for the next run of GPIO boards. So those that have the test boards can use the above end-plate design, while those with subsequent boards will have a separate end...

Re: V2.00 board errata

All, Here is the recommended end-plate dimensions for putting a V3 main board and v2.00 GPIO in the same enclosure: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/gpiov200_v3_eas400.gif There's more details in the MegaShift assembly manual. I will put more drawings in the assembly manual shortly (GPIO only in...

Re: V2.00 board errata

In fact, if the end plate around the Ampseal flange (mentioned above) is 0.100" to 0.110" thick, then a 'proper' end plate can be put over that to form a sealed unit. I will post drawings of these shortly.
