Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance, Yes, I am using the 4WD switch to be able to switch to an alternative shift table. For now I am using it as a poor boy's manual mode. My up and down shift points in-part throttle range are not optimized yet, so on the street, if it's acting up (shift hunting) I can flip the switch. The table ...

WOT odd shifting behaviors

Hi Lance, I took the car to the drag strip last night. No major issues, but I did see some unusual behavior, after looking at the data. See attached screen shot. On the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, the controller seems to be confused what gear it wants. On the 1-2, it briefly selects 3rd gear for "targe...

Thanks Lance. That worked.

Hangs in 4th gear after VSS=0

Lance,

This one is weird.
Commanded gear stays in 4th even after I come to a complete stop. As I start to roll-out, then it comes down, 3, 2, 1. See attached data.
I am running V5.101. Last year I was running V4.145, and don't remember having this problem.

Any ideas?

Dave

If we did want to expand this, though, perhaps a distinct rpm limit for each forward gear might work best?

Yes, something you can add at a later date. For now, I'll be fine having it shift at the same rpm for the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.

Thanks,
Dave

Blending of VSS and RPM based shift tables

Lance, I have a question that may be doable, but not sure... My application is a drag car, that gets driven on the street a little. Street driving is mild, just trying to get to and from the track. Am not racing it on the street, not needing to optimize up-shifts and down-shifts. But once I get to t...

Re: Spare2 output not working

Well, let me clarify. That worked for the 5101 SW, but not for the 4145 SW. I rebuilt the 4L60E this winter and was wanting to try it out with the 4145 SW (what I ran last year) to make sure it shifts ok, etc, before switching to new SW. I can live without Spare2 not working (use this as a trans-bra...

Re: Spare2 output not working

Lance, I loaded up the 5101 sw, same issue. I removed the personality header, and placed a scope on the CPU side of the Spare2 pin. In the active state, the port is producing a low duty cycle square wave. 10 ms period, the on-time is 250 us. When I clear the condition it goes to zero volts. I also c...

Spare2 output not working

Am having issues making the Spare2 output work. I can not get it to turn on. When I measure the voltage at the personality header, it measures zero volts ( at the output of the CPU). Want the output to turn on when VSS < 5mph. See attached msq and let me know if anything looks wrong. Thanks.
