Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance, Thanks for the feedback. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, or could do something different to make the loads go easier. I really appreciate your fast response on these issues. Having a SW developer who is so tightly coupled with the end user is what makes the whole MS...

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance, Just had the last night of racing for the season tonight. Code 5101 with mph shifting worked just fine. Maybe at a later date I will do some more experimenting with 5102iv and the new overrev shift points feature. As a side note, I usually have some issues when bouncing between firmware versi...

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance, Yes, I was looking right over it! I was looking for a "default=10", when mine was set at 150. Back a couple of posts ago, you mention how I could disable Decel Mode, which I have done by setting Max Sload=0. So I guess having 150 in there doesn't mater. Ok, so I just got back from t...

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance,
I do not see the "Min Decel Mode Speed" option, as you mentioned.

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Thanks for looking into this. On that test drive, I made the mistake of pulling out onto a busy road, figuring it would eventually shift out of 1st. The 2nd test drive with the 5101 code worked as expected. I continue to hone in on the proper shift table. I'll await any updates to 5102iii. -Dave

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance,

I just tried 5103iii and it never makes it out of 1st gear.

Attached is data log from the 5102iii drive (crawl), and the tune.

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance, I had a chance to experiment with different line pressures during the 2-3 shift, to try to soften it, to prevent some binding that I think the data was showing. I read some of your on-line manuals which were very helpful in understanding these shifting adjustments. But I am still having a str...

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Thanks Lance. I'll give it a try tomorrow, at least the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. I am assuming I need to bump the MPH table values up out of the way so they do not interfere with the RPM shift point?

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

Lance,

Yes, a separate rpm rev limit value for each gear is what I'm looking for. That way, I can stretch it out in 3rd gear if need be.

Thanks,
Dave

Re: WOT odd shifting behaviors

One other question, while I'm thinking of it... I like your Tach+Load shift tables, almost. It is what I need for WOT shifting. Benifit is being able to program different RPM shift points for different gears. But I don't think it would work very well on the street, unless I'm missing something in ho...
